Two agency books were Edgar finalists–Maisie Dobbs by Jacqueline Winspear for Best Novel and Offer of Proof by Robert Heilbrun for Best First Novel. The Maisie Dobbs books also won two coveted Agatha Awards, a Macavity Award and several others. Agency author Cornelia Read’s Field of Darkness was an Edgar finalist for Best First Novel in 2007 and was nominated for several other awards.
Author Janis Cooke Newman’s novel Mary, based on the life of Mary Todd Lincoln, was named best historical novel of the year by USA Today.
Another agency book, Terry Ryan’s The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio, bought by Robert Zemeckis and starring Julianne Moore and Woody Harrelson was recently released on DVD. The book reached #4 on the New York Times bestseller list.
